Doug has always had a passion for sport ever since he first sat in a pram watching British gymnasts train! This passion has led him to work as an educator, facilitator and mentor helping others develop their skills.
He has developed his coaching and mentoring expertise during 25 years of working with sports organisations including Super League Europe, The LTA, RFL, Scottish Rugby, The FA and individuals from grassroots to high performance levels.
With specific expertise in organisation and leadership development, Doug works with professional sports clubs, Olympians, Performance Directors, Head Coaches, Post-Graduate students, School Leadership teams, companies and entrepreneurs.
Doug has also expertise in project management, strategic development, business planning and facilitating change. This leads him to be in demand to work with Governing Bodies of sport, Government departments, health authorities, schools and Russell Group Universities.
Doug’s involvement with Scotland Rugby League goes back to 1987 when he played for Scotland students and subsequently played in the 1989 Student World Cup. He coaches youth rugby and keeps active through swimming, cycling and golf. He is a Director for a number of companies including a Community Interest Company that supports the sporting development of young people and coaches.
