England won the toss and elected to receive
Scotland kicked off and after 3 drives from England Tom Halliwell broke the Scotland line to score under the posts, followed by a successful conversion.
From a Michael Mellon re-start Callum Young managed to gather the ball, but after some promising drives, a kick through from Jay Anderson wielded no try.
From the 8m re-start Dave Anderson was force over in his chair on the first tackle. When the game resumed, three quick plays enabled Jodie Boyd-Ward to break the Scotland line and score. Halliwell with the conversion
From the kick off Scotland forced an error from England on their own line, with six tackles Scotland were unable to force their way over the line Mellon knocked-on in the closing attack.
James Hazel then broke through the middle to score under the posts. Conversion from Halliwell.
Scotland then got a penalty but struggled to get over the half way line, never the less the kick through allowed for a good chase, but James Simpson gathered the ball.
A slick England move nearly got them a try on the 3rd tackle; however Scotland couldn’t prevent Halliwell crashing over the line, from which he converted.
A further two tries came from Lewis King and James Hazel and with Scotland pinned in their own half and following a turnover England passed through hands for Boyd-Ward to score. Halliwell converted all three tries.
Either side of a Nathan Collins score, which he converted, Scotland were in England’s half via a penalties, from the resultant play from the first penalty Scotland were forced into touch and on the second penalty Scotland couldn’t break over the try line.
Scotland showed some spirited defence against England, but were unable to keep them out as scores came from Fred Nye and Simpson from which Collins converted both

Following the break the opening exchanges were pretty even but England score three more tries through Collins and two from Josh Butler, Collins converting all three.
Then some good defence from Scotland slightly stemmed the flow of England but an error allowed Collins to gather the ball in Scotland’s half. Butler then completed his hat-trick and grabbed a 4th try either side of a Nathan Mulhall score. Collins converted 2 tries and Nye converting the other.
Collins then scored in the corner but failed to convert.
Scotland were then reduced to 4 players when Mellon was given 10 minutes in the sin-bin for tipping up Hazel’s chair following a tackle.
With the player advantage Rob Hawkins scored a quick hat-trick from which he converted one of his tries and Collins converting the other two.
Three more tries came for England before Mellon returned for the final few minutes, Butler grabbed a 5th try and Hawkins scored another two, converting 2 of the tries with Collins converting the other.
Scotland finally got on the score sheet through a drop goal from Daniel Grant off the back of 3 good drives.
Gavin Dobson then had a chance of a try in the closing stages but was unable to gather a pass through hands involving Dave Anderson and Midge Hartley.
