Scotland Rugby League Wheelchair Head Coach Mark Roughsedge has announced a squad of 11 to take on Wales in October.
Roughsedge has utilised an extended squad through the year, with this being his first streamlined selection in his tenure at the helm of the team. The squad includes a mix of experience and youth, with the Head Coach naming 3 uncapped players in his final selection.
His side face a huge task when they come up against the World number 3 ranked Welsh side, however Roughsedge is excited for Scotland to get back on court after a period of hard training:
“The squad are excited to be getting back out there on the pitch and this has been reflected in the hard work that they have been putting into training and away from sessions.
We are starting to head in the right direction, and I am delighted to be welcoming several new caps to the squad for the Wales test.
Our younger players have been fantastic, their energy and enthusiasm has helped us to raise our intensity to a new level. I am really looking forward to seeing how players like Ryan and Caydn perform as part of the next stage of their development.”
