Looking ahead to the programme getting underway, Whalley added: “We are in the very early stages of the building process of a playing squad, we have had a substantial expression of interest which is very pleasing with a lot of names I am familiar with across Rugby League and Rugby Union with interest from girls playing in Women’s Super League, Championship, Academy, NRLW, Premier 15s and the French Rugby Union competition.

“Our aim in 2025 is to build an International women’s platform to allow us to compete within Development games and Test Matches the International pathway will start at u14s to Full International and we aim to compete in the August and October International window with opponents yet to be named.”
