Scotland Women Head Coach, John Whalley, has selected an initial 31-player strong train-on squad for 2025.
The newest Women’s Squad implementation has taken place over a period of 16-weeks, with a new Coaching Structure and selection of a training squad, with a mixture of players from across many of the Women’s Leagues in the UK and France.
Scotland Women will meet up for their first training session on Saturday 24 May as they start preparations as a National side, with upcoming fixtures to be announced in due course.
Head Coach, John Whalley, said: “I am very excited to finally name the 2025 squad that will play in two Test Matches and a Development game towards the end of the year.
“Over the last 3 months, we as a group of staff, have worked closely together with the board to start the build process of the full International Women’s Team. In that period we have worked with almost 80 players and today we name a very strong squad of 31 that will train and compete for places in the games later this year.”
He added: “We have a great mix of youth and experience with players from the Betfred Women’s Super League, Championship, Championship 1, Southern Championship, French Elite and Scotland Premiership. I am very excited to see how we go against some very good and tough opposing teams.”
